I liked what you said about showing interest in your county, although your family was not involved with it's Civil War past. When I started into genealogy of my family in Simpson County, Mississippi I thought I would find family members in its Civil War history. I did not, I found out that they (a very large group of people) did not move to that county until just after the war; but while doing research I became a huge fan of the Civil War soldiers from Simpson County. They were unknown, and not remembered, and I created a web site for them (under reconstruction) several years ago. I did find my family Civil War history and I keep a detailed history for myself, but the history of the Simpson County men I wanted to share with the world.
