You will find Charleston fascinating, I was just there last april.
However Fort Wagner/Morris island site is under water. You can drive
out to Folly Island to the end of the road at the Coast Guard Station
& see Morris Island in the distance, The light house is on Morris,
it was built about 300 yards inland, now it is about 300 yards out
to sea. A good read is "Gate of Hell" by Stephen Wise. On page 219
it shows modern map of Morris Island & the underwater Ft. Wagner
& its siege approaches. However go to Fort Moultrie, lot to see
around there..
