“ I know that you are trying to draw some sort of infurance to determine whether or not the man has or has not racist motivations. But in the bigger picture of things what does that matter?”

No Doyle, I was not trying to put any racist implication on it. I don’t consider myself a racist and I’m not happy with the election results either. I do think that there are some who would take this opportunity to turn that into a racist act instead of an act of discontent.

“His display will not change the minds of reasonable educated people. And unreasoning people will never change their minds anyway.”

You have a point.

“When we become unashamed of the Confederate Battle flag then we can change the minds of others. Because as long as we are ashamed and defensive of that flag it can always be used against us as a weapon.”

I don’t believe any of us are ashamed of the Flag. We do get defensive. We have to. It’s being taken away from places it very rightly belongs and others make it the poster picture of racism when it is very much the symbol of something entirely different. You are correct in saying nothing was done to stop its use by a group who also use the American flag. The group that brings down the PC police like a SWAT team.

“As long as we are defensive and afraid to show the flag we acknowledge that we believe that our ancestors were wrong and THAT is the real Dishonor of that flag and our ancestor. We do not have the Guts of our grandfathers to stand up and speak our convictions. We run, and hide, like a bunch of Cockroaches then the light hits them, and say "Oh, I wish he hadn't done that."

Again, in my opinion only, he should be flying the American flag in protest. Upside down and backwards. He would be making his point loud and clear. We do have the guts to stand and speak our convictions. We do every time we stand up for and fly the CBF. We do when observe a Confederate holiday. We do each time we speak of our Confederate ancestors.. We aren’t hiding. We aren’t afraid of being called racist when we honor our heritage. We do however, believe there are times when we don’t hand over the live grenade to the enemy unless we’ve pulled the pin. It isn’t fear but strategy that causes some to feel there’s a time and a place and maybe this isn’t they right tool for the job. Few who protest the flying of the CBF believe it’s anything other than a racial slur when done for the reason this man has used. I see it as his way to remind us of the attempt by our ancestors to bring about “change” but too many haven’t heard that part of the History lesson.
