I haven't found any mention of the CBF by this group, but I am looking.

Not sure just how the Confederacy or the CBF was supposed to be racist in regards to the Jews. We all know that Jews served the Confederacy well. I look at this group as just another poorly or "selective fact" group that is based on the promotion of their race and their prejudice pushing their biased agenda. This is pretty much spelled out in their mission statement “to stop, by appeals to reason and conscience and, if necessary, by appeals to law, the defamation of the Jewish people. Its ultimate purpose is to secure justice and fair treatment to all citizens alike and to put an end forever to unjust and unfair discrimination against and ridicule of any sect or body of citizens"

If SHAPEs mission statement read just like this and used white in place of Jewish, we would be considered a racist group.

I did finally find their site where hate symbols are listed, but because they say list the CBF as a hate symbol doesn't make it so.

Look at the situation, I could put up a website stating the US flag is a hate symbol, and is nothing more than a symbol for trampling on the rights of citizens. I could go on about how racists hate groups use this as their symbol and this flag has its roots in racism. I could put up plenty of quotes of Abe Lincoln and also show photos of blacks in the 60s using this flag as a black power symbol. I could even look up some of the folks I have debated and put select statements they made to me up as proof of this a black power symbol. I even have some events from the past election I could use. I would soon be called a traitor, racist and all sorts of names. I would imagine that I would receive all sorts of threats and be checked out by Homeland Security. The real question would be am I right or wrong? Because I say so, does it make it true across the board for everyone? Do you agree?

It is the right of these hate groups to use any symbol they chose to use. I don't like it any more than anyone else, but I am not going to call for this right to be taken away from them. Instead I try to educate people about the all flags from our history and educate them to the fact that all people who use the CBF are not a racist or belong to a hate group. This is what SHAPE is all about education and truth.
