Well see that is where we disagree, it is my position that the EP did not free any slave since Lincoln did not have that authority. Actually if the war had ended before Lincoln gave the EP speech, I doubt many ex-slaves would have returned to their masters. It took the passage of the (2nd) 13th admendment to free the slaves in the United States.
FYI I think I know about asmuch about slavery as the next fellow. I don't clain to be an expert but only a casual reseracher. I made no comment toward you or yopur knowledge in any way, why do you feel it is important to make such references toward me?
