Re: Do you ever ask the question...

I do not think you'll find a very many Confederate descendants that will admit it was not worth it. Everything has its good and bad, and for us the positives, by far, out-weigh the negatives. What makes it right for us was our ancestors principals were never compromised nor cheapened by a modern term- "political correctness". Our wealth lost, true, but at least they fought off corporate welfare (federal subsidies) and corrupt workers unions as long as they could. From the destruction and ashes of Sherman's march and whole-sale slaughter of Grants campaigns gave birth to great men and women who would make this country greater than before. The character of men like Lee and the successes of men like Forrest created a culture that the United States would always be depended on in times of trouble and need, and even today are still being produced.

"Better to fight for something than live for nothing."

General George S. Patton, a direct product of the South's defeat.
