I saw where he was going with his theory but I needed a reference from the period that would back up his thoughts to keep it within the boundary of the board. His theory about states, who formally fought for states rights, who had quickly changed to ignoring states rights on the premise of voting for restrictive laws THROUGH the constitution is interesting. But since I do not have any historical reference to look at, I can't argue the point. All the history I have only shows "states rights" in the context of the existing Constitution and laws of 1860-61. I don't believe there WERE and restrictive amendments against the states on the books at that time, not until 1864-65. His reference can be found at....
