Re: Bryson's Mounted Company

Not bad at all. You know a lot of the boys in Blue fought to preserve the Union and keep the nation together. A smaller number fought to free the slaves and probably most fought because their friends and relatives were going off to war. I'll be completely honest and say that my people didn't fight for any of those reasons...from what I can find out and understand they were involved in a large scale feud. Their foes took to gray and they took to blue. My g-g-uncle James K. Morrow lost his father to rebs, his friends in Bryson's Boys to rebs at the Tellico River and two brother-in-laws hanged by Confederate forces at Murphy NC. It wasn't all one sided, any reb he caught... he killed, shot or hanged. It was war to the knife. After he died his wife got a pension from the government but it was later taken away from her on a morales charge. Guess you got to be morale to take people out. Anyway his brother my g-g-grandfather was one of the men in his company. His daughter married another g-g-uncle of mine on the Garrett side...he had seven brothers in the Confederate Army...Their marriage ended up in divorce...wonder why?

Cump.
