Well put and my point exactly. Back in those days, here in South Mississippi, there was no such thing as just heading down the road and expert to get a job. All of the shops were sort of "connected" you might say. If you let here and went to there the other people knew you were coming and you may or may not get an interview. If those plans didn’t work out it wasn’t always possible to come back to your old job. Then there are such things as the benefits that you would be giving up and losing, putting everything you worked for at risk. All of this had to be considered before you hit the blacktop. Yes the man owned us like it or not.
