And then there is today, the present. How many out there feel dissociated, at odds with the leadership? What events in the course of a citizen's life might make them consider a structure of Government closer to the heart, more in keeping with what is valued? The poorly used, the dead kin, the loss of resource, hard won by being there, to the board room that lied and disappeared, the foolish feeling of opening to a news article to read of the politician one voted for, now subject of corruption investigation. The hammering that creates a nation of one. Motives and events may have changed since the scenario that created the conflict that was the half decade experience of this nation in the 1860's. The major difference today I see as the pressures are not defined by region. North and South? No, from sea to shining sea.
