Chief, wasn't the last casualty a Union soldier at the battle of Palmito, Texas, in May 1865? I'm sure there are other candidates after April 14. If they go that route, they need another reason. Someone recently reminded us that Harry Truman turned down a similar late award of the M.O.H., and he had seen men die in combat in WWI. Stan
