It may not be a fort the next time, but the sprite of revolution is once again burning in this country and the fuse is pretty short. You may get your wish if you're not careful. The practical lesson of history is that, unlike the CW, while the United States has a vast military force it cannot use it greatest weaponry against it own people. Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan have shown that our armed forces cannot conquer a true rebellion. Iraq required our full commitment to achieve what has been acomplished and it was only the size of California, one state in our present Union.
The next war will be not be State against State, and army against army, as our last Civil War was. It will be an insurgency fought over idealogies in the streets of our cities. The same idealogies that the last Civil War was fought over. Except this time there will be No slaves to be freed to cloud the issues. Ideals such as Freedom and self determination, as opposed to concepts like to preservation of a Union. Those are the only Ideals worth the shedding of blood.
If you wish to throw down a Challenge with your "Dare" there are plenty of us who still believe that Freedom is still worth fighting for. That NO GOVERNMENT has the right to threaten free men.
