I have studied literally hundreds of military records of individual soldiers of the Civil War and have noticed a great many of them have a "special muster" dated April 10, 1863. I have also spoken to others that have made the same observation. Does anyone have an explanation for a "special muster" on this date. I appreciate any help you might have for me.
