His claim before Congress for an increase in pension says that he was also in Co G Fourth Vermont Volunteers beginning in February, 1865. He was a pvt, corporal and sgt, was wounded in the right thigh at Antietam on Sept 17, 1862 and again at Gettysburg on July 3, 1863. In 1912 he had paresis, affecting brain and nerve centers and was totally disabled needing care day and night. Incapable of laboring for several years, he was 67 and dependent upon his pension in 1912. He asked for $30 per month and it was granted. His pension papers should have a death date and place of death.
