Doyle, I get your point. In the mid 1960's, my SE Texas 7th grade history teacher showed me how to use the slide projector and left the room. The slide show was some sappy Carl Sandburg version of Lincoln and the "Civil War". In Texas, then as now, facets of American history can only be taught in designated grades (e.g. American Revolution in 5th and 9th grades only). You might imagine, the subject-time period-location was not condusive for this teacher to express her point of view. It was the only time she ever left the room. God rest her soul.
