I had a college poetry class where I wrote an essay comparing Tennyson's "Charge of the Light Brigade" to Owens' "Dulce et Decorum Est." Rather than dealing with the mechanics of the verse itself, I contrasted how the perspective provided by their life experiences impacted their respective poems. Got an A, but my professor encouraged me to change my major to history, which I did. LOL
