The timing of this man's actions has to be calculated to accomplish something. Clearly he is out for some political gain, he's catering to a specific group. If he can get some sort of "compromise" or "change" in how long those flags are allowed to fly on the Graves, he will think himself (and maybe others) as a force to be reckoned with. I figure he is out to gain more politically from the group he counts on for votes. Beat up on him too much in the public domain, and the desired effect would make him a victim, something that would strengthen him.
Don't look for apologies, repentance, or a change of heart from this idiot; he's not too worried about our opinions. Let's hope that the laws in place will prove his actions abhorrent, and he comes out with egg on his face. He's looking for publicity, I hope it works against him.
