Well, back to my original post...So they think by seceding they will better protect themselves by NOT having any help from the Federal Government... why not put in more resources in protection from Indians, AND still have the Government forces added to their defenses?

Was Georgia, or the other seceding states going to then take the place of the Government forces to help out Texas with Indians or banditry?

What is the logic of what they were thinking back then?
