Our being out gunned now is a little different than in 1775 and 1861, when arms were muskets and cannons, with Congreve rockets added in the Revolution. Submarines (the Turtle) failed in the first attack, while the Hunley succeded in sinking the Housatonic, was lost in the return from her mission. We simply could not face the current imbalance with any degree of success. It is folly (No disrespect intended) to think so. No foreign government would dare come to our aid as the French did in the Revolution. Remember, none did in the WTBS. My suggestions are our best hope. As Ben Franklin said, "We must all hang together, or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately." This is no longer a North/South issue; it is the people against a Government grown arrogant through support of the Press, groups like A.C.O.R.N., and the apathy of too many citizens. Seventy million gun owners can swing any election, if we unite on respect for our traditions, and not argue about whose ox is being gored. Sorry, Jim. Stan
