That's interesting. Every instance of reports of black Confederates in number I've found I've been able to associate them to Louisiana troops, most probably creols but that is a guess. At the Battle of Chancellorsville and Chickasaw Bluffs Union reports specially state fighting with Confederate negro units. From these detailed reports I've been able to determine which units were involved. Even at the Battle of Baton Rouge a Corps of Negroes was reported in the Confederate attack by union officers (some historians disagree with the report). Yours just adds to the number.
