Supreme Court

Horace Lamar Lurton was appointed Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court in 1909 by President Taft. He served in the 5th TN Inf., 2nd KY Inf. and 3rd KY Cav.

Edward Douglass White was appointed to the United States Senator by Louisiana in 1891. He was appointed Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court in 1894 by President Cleveland and served in that role until being elevated to Chief Justice by President Taft in 1910. He died in office in 1921. He was a lieutenant in the 9th La. Cavalry in 1865.
