Joe, that action took place in 1874. Longsreet was wounded in the leg, pulled off his horse, and captured. He was held overnight by the Rebel-led group. Their commander said he was hard pressed to protect Old Pete when the men found he had led the forces against them. Like his bad luck while leading a charge in the Wilderness ten years before, Longstreet found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. I wonder how much his ego, and his desire for attention, affected his actions during this time. Later, he did make a good choice in his young wife, in 1897. After his death, Mrs. Longstreet spent her time in rehabilitating his image, until her death in 1966. Stan
