One of the intrinsic facts of war is that the victors get to decide who was the "good guys."

An objective viewpoint of history allows for review of the excesses of both sides and (hopefully) teaches us how to avoid all of those excesses in the future. Re-fighting any war does not change the end result.

As to the specifics of this Texas discussion, I have long maintained as a "joke" that I would be on my way home immediately if Texas seceded and stabilized its economy by joining OPEC.
