... and at this point we are heading toward an emotional debate of who was more "glorious", more "honorable", or more "evil." Which is discussion I avoid because it deals in emotional interpretations rather than the dispassionate facts and lessons of history.

The Civil War was fought once on the battlefields -- there is no need to fight it again from the armchair. Objective study, yes. Emotional argument? No thanks.
