Personally I do not think it would have to be on that scale. There are a number of Civil War heritage organizations and history groups scattered around the U.S. IF these Historians would simply take on the campaign of just reacting to these miscarriages it would take long for the politicians to see that there is a backlash.

The fact that the politicians know that someone disaproves will give them a reason to think about these things. The fact is that they do these things is because they think they are earning themselves a voting base in the next election. If they find out there is a voting base that they may be turning against them, they may not be so eager to make such proposals. After all if it were so popular why hasn't reparations already not been passed.

However it is the nature of mankind to skulk in the shadows, to not speak up and not to cause waves. We are always looking for an organization to cover our tracks. For someone else to do it for us.

Why?

I do in fact write to my Congressman and Senators regularly on several matters.
