While this might be old news to most of you it was new to me. A fellow metal detecting in Virginia found a coin purse at a civil war encampment. Using google enter "Civil War Coin Purse Found" He has a video of it on U2. Inside of the coin purse was what appears to be a cape pin but no one can identify it? Personally I don't think the coin purse was Union but rather civilian or Confederate. The latest dated coin was 1862. It's a real interesting mystery that is for sure.
