Hi Jim, I had no idea you were born in Tampa. Had it not been for my nosey self wondering just why Pinkney got himself wrapped in the arms of the Union and sent to prison, I may not have found this board a long time ago. Thanks to Hugh Simmons, Alan Pitts and many others, I was able to put some pieces together. It seems as if no other family member has tried to do this on this GGGrandfather.

William Pinkney Parker was born in Edgefield County, SC in 1835 and his family relocated to the Live Oak area in Suwannee County, Fl when he was an infant. Died in Pensacola, Escambia County, Fl, Dec.12, 1922.
Enlisted (in Tampa) in the 8th Fl. Inf., Co.K, Capt. Turner's Company. He also served under Capt. McMullen. Captured at Gettysburg on July2,1863 he was sent to Ft Delaware until his release on June 6,1865.
His brothers:
Jasper Parker, Co.L, 2nd Fl Inf. Died of wounds, Sept.26,1861
Newton Parker, Co.L, 2nd Fl Inf. Died May31, 1862 of wounds recieved at Seven Pines
George Parker, Co.C, 10th Fl. Inf. Captured Sept.10, 1864 at Petersburg and sent to Pt Lookout. Died in prison, Feb.25, 1865
