Alan, I just discovered, while looking for an article on Knight which says he was with his white and black wives at the same time, and had children with both, that there are two books on Knight, about which the authors are in some disagreement. Between the books there is a screenplay about Jones County. Long ago, there was another movie, "Tap Roots", loosely based on Knight. Ward Bond played his character. Appropriate, as Knight was a tall, heavily built man. I suppose this helped him to live until 1922. Life is strange, when you get Hollywood mixed in with history. Stan
