I am directly related to the Yorks that can be traced up to Semore York and back down to Calvin York, and I know a good part of their history, but I haven't been studying all of the history. The most I know during the Civil War was the Yorks that moved to South Alabama. I know of some of the Unionist feelings of some of the Yorks in Tennessee and much earlier their Tory activities during the War for Independence.
