And yet could we also not include a country such as Ireland and Scotland (or any under the Crown) who fought for individual right to land ownership? The majority of Irish were in effect slaves to the landed 'Gentry' well after our own messy war. You'd almost need to break down the 'degree' of slavery because some were for freedom from virtual slavery while that was not the name given their case.
When it all comes down, there's still enough slavery going on in the world today to show, it wasn't just one area of one country in the 1800's.
