Racism crossed all demographics in those days. Racism in New York is nothing new, Starting the birth of Slavery in America in that Dutch Colony, the debate to ratify the Constitution of the United States, and the 1860's race riots over emancipation. But what I object to is the half truths which are protrayed. Historically If it were not for the Republicans in Congress in 1964 there would be no 1964 Civil Rights act, and that was strongly opposed by most Democrats.
So how did the Republicans become the racist?
