During the Civil War most of my Garrett family were from North Carolina. I think there may have been some from South Carolina but not sure. All the Garretts were rebs...my g-g-grandfather Jackson and two of his brothers were in the 11th GA Infantry, they had three other brothers in the 52nd GA Infantry and one brother was in the 6th GA Calvary. A more distant relative W.N. Garrett would surrender his regiment...64th NC Infantry at the Cumberland Gap....One of the best bluffs of the war by Burnside.
