It's an interesting sideline to the war. I think Stuart and Phillip St. George Cook were brothers in law, and either Longstreet or one of the Hills was best man at Grant's wedding to Julia Dent, whose father owned slaves. And at Donaldson Grant repaid Gen. Breckenridge 50 dollars he had loaned Grant before the war, so Breckenridge would have an easier captivity.
