After some thought, I changed my mind. Lee should have burned Gettysburg along with all the other yankee towns on the way up there. There would be monuments expressing sadness over all the destruction of courthouses, churches and homes. Children would be taught in school about the cruelty and inhumanity of the War against Northern civilians. And even if the Northern States still conquered the South, it would be remembered more than the destruction of two thousand Southern cities.
