That is a very good reason. I've found some quirky info in looking at census pages and some of it comes from transcription from old handwritten to typed, phonetic spelling, maybe the 'taker' was just in a hurry to move on. Surnames have been mispelled and nicknames were used for first names and initials. I have one who was listed as married but had been widowed for 10 years. Maybe she said she had been married and the 'taker' just put that down instead of under widowed.
