Yes, HONOR was the hallmark of Robert E. Lee.

Lee had another word that was the Hallmark for his life. That word was DUTY. He said that Duty was the most sublime word in the english language. That a man should strive to do no less than his duty. Put those two words together "Duty" and "Honor" as a life practise and you have a fulltime occupation. Very few people have mastered that occupation over the course of a lifetime. Robert E. Lee and George Washington DID and that is what made them Great.
