I learned about the difference between gun and rifle from watching old Buggs Bunny cartoons. Buggs bunny was a drill sargeant who was dressing down Elmer Fudd (who said he was shooting wabbits with his gun)...Bugg's said, "all right dog face, how come every other private in this man's army has a rifle and YOU got a GUN!!"
