Well Crockett was here for a very short time. I believe it was for the purpose of trading with Panton-Leslie. They were a huge operation in the trapper/hunter market. I think it was with Jackson too. What the town looked like at that time was probably not pretty. Rachel Jackson didn't like it because of the alcohol consumption on Sundays. I sorta thing that my ancestors living here at the time may have needed that drink. They never knew come Monday morning what nations flag would fly in the plaza. Would have suited many of us 'natives' if the flag for the CSA had been the one that lasted the longest.
