The POW's at Camp Douglas were offered train transportation home if they would take the Oath. Similarly, the POW's that arrived from Ft. Donelson were offered freedom if they took the Loyalty Oath. Their choices are a HUGE testament to these men. And that rightfully makes us even more proud of them.
