These two records seem to be of the same person

William Brickeen, Private, Company C, 52nd Tennessee Infantry, recorded on the July/August 1863 muster roll as "Dropped from rolls since last muster," no further records

X Taken from record of events* [faint handwritten note at bottom of card]

The 52nd Regiment Tennessee Infantry was organized in January 1862, with ten companies, A to K. After the battle of Shiloh it was consolidated into five companies and united with a remnant of the 51st Regiment Tennessee Infantry, dated April 23, 1862, and formed the 51st Regiment Tennessee Infantry (Consolidated). This action was declared illegal by the War Department and the regiments were re-organized and the men returned to their original companies in April, 1863. The regiments were again consolidated May 27, 1863, but each company was mustered separately and under its original designation during the period covered by this consolidation.
