In the last decade, there does seem to be more open, civil discussion on events that wouldn't have been that way before. There will always be the 'hard liners' and those who believe that it was all about one issue but because much of it has been kept out of the classroom setting, we're seeing more who are willing to listen and to think of it in different context. When I hear someone say the've never heard many of the places where battles took place, and they have no clue why passions ran high but are willing to look at an issue from both sides I feel like Emmitt did when he scored a touchdown. Maybe there is hope that future generations can accept and see the two sides of the coin.
