Boardland in the Civil War

The book: The Boardland in the Civil War by Edward Conrad Smith is a part of the Select Bibliographies Reprint Series, first published in 1927 and reprinted in 1969, Standard Book Number: 8369-5078-X, Library of Contress 70-95078.

This book was purchased from a group of books offered by a local library as being insufficiently read to remain on their shelves. The under utilization of this book and others with similar content is likely one of the causes of so much misunderstanding as to why the Civil War was fought.

I personnally found none of the facts the author brought out regarding the social, economic, political, or slavery issues to be contrary to the actual events, that I have studied, as were recorded by history before many events were classified as being not politically correct.

Note that the books was originally written in 1927 before Politically Correctness was vogue, but not before there was mistakes made in the reasons for the Civil War.

To those that wish to refer to publications where the author made a sincere attempt to record actual historical causes for the war, I believe this book should be read.

After reading the book there could be an interesting discussion from those that continually debate the causes of the Civil War.
