4th Texas' Company H's captain was Captain Procter P. Porter.

Was this letter written in cursive? Are you positive the G. F. Foster is transcibed correctly? Or maybe the transcibers of the records mis-wrote Porters records?

Also there was a Captain F. H. Sapp, listed for the same company, and another captain assigned to this company that started as a 1st Lt, so it had at least modest turn over in Captains.

Also, there is an Osyka, Pike County, Mississippi on the RR between New Orleans, La. and Jackson, Miss. It must have been an important point, because the O.R. has many references to it.
