Right, all Southern people lived on wonderful, very large plantations. Unhuh. And there were no individual family farms. Sort of just like the ones up North. No shopkeepers. Everyone owned slaves and mistreated them. Everyone in the North was against slavery. Slavery never existed there either. The Northern folk would welcome with open arms any slave who just showed up and wanted to move in next door. Southern women never worked the fields alongside their men and all of the slaves they were thought to have had. There was no slavery going on in the North. It was just like heaven. The immigrants who came across the pond to that heaven were given the royal treatment. They never lacked for anything once they arrived. They wouldn't have been 'required' to work in slave like conditions at the factories, ports and mines. No, of course not.
If they thought the South was so evil, why not just let it go?
