Thank you. I reciprocate your comments. John Boring came from Ireland in the late 1600s. The McCollums came from Scotland to New Jersey in 1732, but apparently moved South as soon as they could. LOL The Prices and Wallaces also came from Scotland, but I'm not sure when. My Wallace grandmother was born in Ballground, Georgia. She was part Cherokee. So I know the nature of our mountain ancestors. We want to be pretty much left alone, and are kind to friends, family, and strangers. But wrong us, and you have a fight on your hands. The worst I ever had resulted from a drunk turning on me when I was doing him a favor. I broke his knife and three of his ribs. When he sobered up I helped wrap them.
I think Grant and Lee both had that spirit in them. When the fight was over, neither held animosity for the other. Grant's terms were generous, and Lee refused all requests to carry on a guerilla war, which would have been disaterous for the entire country. I am glad that the vast majority of us get along, and disagree agreeably. It seems that now includes UncCump, AKA Rob. Happy Easter. Stan
