That had me confused as I always thought the Sioux were too far north to have any contact at all with the CSA forces. I have learned not to judge these prisoners for any moral wrong we may percieve thay had done in enlisting to fight with the other side against what may have been viewed as a common enemy.

However, I hear Ole Miss had a former baseball player sign to join the New York Yankees farm system. I considered that some what in poor taste until I heard he had offers from the Red Sox as well :-)
