Tulare is in California. Adm. Zumwalt came from Missouri stock. He ancestor, James Brown Zumwalt was born in 1832 in that state. His grandfather on his mother's side was Pleasant LaFayette Ford, born in 1836 in Missouri and is listed in the Confederate ranks in the 1st Northeast Regiment, Missouri Cavalry.
