I agree David. Children will try to understand things when they have a visual to put with it. It's also our job to see that the lessons they are being taught in the textbooks are tampered with some hard truth. I guess I didn't do a very good job with my own. One of the three is a hard core Southern history nut. One of them, to be fair isn't a history nut of any kind. My son avoids any controversy. He isn't into history. He's more into the future. Guess that comes with the first Star Wars generation. You better believe I've done a better job with my grands. They at least know who in the family was involved and they know where they fought. Four of the six are asking real interesting questions. They are wanting to understand why I am so passionate about them getting it right.
