Definition of "an expert" as per me. "Any person carrying an empty brief case who is ten miles away from home." My definition seems to very closely describe some of the Civil War experts who appear on various news channels and write articles in certain printed media.

All we can do when we view or read such comments is to feel satisfied that we have researched our Civil War history and know without a doubt what we are hearing or reading is a series of "half-truths" and outright falsehoods.
