He ought to be happy he doesn't work in Florida. They're trying to do away with the tenure thing. Base employment on the student performance in the testing area. The higher learning facilities thought they would be exempt but they are in for a rude awakening. Guess that will put them in the same catagory as the Head Coaches for their schools athletic department. Not enough wins means they look for someone else. The teachers are fighting it and it may be held up for a while, but it's coming.
It seems to me, not that I'm all that bright or in the know on these experts qualifications but many believe, because they have some letters after their name it makes them smarter than the rest of the population when in fact they are only as knowledgable as the information they've studied makes them. Many don't get into anything that may be disputed because they don't want to either learn they are less than well versed or they just won't accept their view may be proven skewed. It makes them feel superior when they can belittle another because of something other than the subject matter at hand. At best, that's very bad manners.
